Rahman the Boss!  

Expectations are skyward when it is a movie of the Super Star. ‘Sivaji' is never an exception. Fanfare, glitz and Rajini – ‘Sivaji' has everything to hit the box office. Add to this the music of A R Rahman, and then the magic happens!

The songs capture to the very grain the iconic image of the Super Star. They do not just translate Rajini's image but also Rahman's genius. The ace music director strikes a fine balance between the commercial and the creative. The songs of the movie Sivaji are one of a kind, taking the listener to diverse worlds. Fast numbers fuse with melodies, pleasing all and sundry.

Balelakka , the introduction song for Rajini, is a foot tapping number by SPB. Raihanah and Benny join him to take it further. Na Muthukumar's lyrics in SPB's youthful voice would leave you wondering whether SPB has really turned 60.

Style is a song written by Pa Vijay. This song focuses on the style of Rajini. Rags, Tanvi, Suresh Peters and Blaaze have rendered voices for this one. The tune of the song is entirely new to Kollywood. Not only is the style of Rajini, but the extraordinary style of Rahman is also evident in this song.

Vaaji Vaaji is already a hit number. Made for the masses, it is a typical Rajini number. With the lyrics of Vairamuthu, Hariharan and Madhushree have sung the song.

Athiradee! Rahman himself plunges into singing in this number with Sayanora. Vaali has written the lyric and that suits the voice of Rahman very much.

Sahana is vintage Rahman. A slow number that echoes in the heart even hours after listening, is sung by Udit Narayanan and Chinmayee. Vairamuthu is the lyricist.  

Boss - the theme number is sung by Blaaze, Naresh Iyer and Raqueeb Alam and written by Na.Muthukumar and Blaaze. This is a short number that can pierce eardrums.

Sahara is another version of the song Sahana. Vijay Yesudas and Gomathi Sree are the singers. The usage of soft instruments has helped this number very much. Vijay Yesudas is the man who steals the show in this song.
